Top Ten Books On Your Winter TBR List:
Honestly, I change my mind about what to read next so frequently it’s often hard to predict! I decided to make this list focus on ten books that aren’t released yet that I am looking forward to reading this winter.
1)

This is a retelling of Robin Hood. In this story Robin Hood’s best friend “Will Scarlet” is actually a girl named Scarlet. I love fairy tale retellings and I think Scarlet might turn out to be a fantastic new heroine.
2)

After the Snow is a dystopian novel about a new Ice Age hitting Earth. I am a sucker for anything dystopian and the story sounds promising. I’ve just been approved via Netgalley to review an egalley of this, so look for a review in the near future.
3)

Cyborg Cinderella? Sign me up. I’ve heard that the series will also include retellings of Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood and Snow White.
4)

The first book in this series, Across the Universe, wasn’t one of my favorites, but the world building was intriguing, and the writing during the beginning of the book was so haunting. So it is because of this that though the characters (except for Harley - who I loved) left me a bit cold, that I continue to be excited about this series.
5)

Lauren Oliver’s writing in Delirium was so lovely that I was hooked from the early pages. I also really adored the message of the book and the ending. I am eager to see where the sequel takes us in this one as well.
6)

This book is about souls that are reincarnated over and over again, who retain their previous memories and experiences from their former lifetimes. Ana is a new soul who was never supposed to be born. When I read the synopsis for this I thought it sounded very original and can definitely be a hit if it lives up to its potential.
7)

“In 2027 destroying an embryo is considered first degree murder.” I am interested in anything that explores women’s rights and gives off a Handmaid’s Tale vibe. This may be the book I’m most excited about on this list.
8)

John Green is one of those authors who I read one book by and declared it a favorite and then didn’t read any of his other books. There is absolutely no reason why I haven’t. I think this needs to change immediately. Looking for Alaska broke my heart and as this story is about a young girl with cancer, this book is likely to do the same, probably even more so.
9)

Under the Never Sky is another upcoming dystopian YA novel. Can you tell I’m a sucker for those? This one deals with people of the future living in virtual environments.
10)

The Alchemy of Forever is a paranormal story about human beings who discovered a method of alchemy that allows them to steal the lives and bodies of other human beings. This allows them to be immortal - but it’s at the cost of innocent lives. I hope that this novel explores the deepest consequences of that.
