Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It’s a great opportunity to get to know other book bloggers. I would love to follow a few more blogs who frequently post reviews, and would love to have more bloggers to discuss books with, so this seemed like a great meme to join.

This week’s question is: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don’t like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

Instantly, three personal pet peeves came to mind.

1) InstaLove. You know what I’m talking about. The characters are just so ~beautiful~ that neither of them can resist falling in love instantly, with nothing in the plot to back up their feelings, or make it believable. They meet. They are beautiful. They are in love. The end. Gosh, I can’t stand that. There’s just no passion in it and the passion that the author writes for that sort of relationship seems entirely fabricated.

2) Love Triangles. I am as tempted to buy a “Team Peeta” shirt as the next girl, I promise, but Love Triangles in a story do a disservice to their characters. Also, Love Triangles are not glamorous. I was at the center of one once, neither of them had abs like Taylor Lautner’s, and jealousy doesn’t look good on anyone, even beautiful supernatural creatures.

3) Weak heroines. The ladies who base all of their decisions around their male love interest, always need to be rescued and have no confidence in themselves. Give me a strong heroine who is open to love but doesn’t feel that she’ll die without it, and I’m yours.

Leave a link to your FF post in the comments so that I can check out your blogs!
